Trying on my Halloween costume

We got Zanthias' Halloween costume today. He and Drew have matching costumes. It's a little long but easily fixable. He really liked the belts!
We have his birthday (costume party) as well as attending a zoo event (Boo at the Zoo) and a Halloween party/trick or treating at a friend's, so he'll get plenty of use out of it! His birthday is a pirate theme and we're asking people to come in their costumes. We're having a photographer come so we should have great photos to share. We got some really neat stuff from Oriental trading company for it. I'm making a pirate ship cake, we have a skull pinata (that you pull strings to open, you don't hit it), and there will be a temporary tattoo station, make your own eyepatch, and a sticker sheet for crafts at the party. We've got some really neat favors (OTC is so cheap!) like mini inflatable pirate beach balls and spyglasses and such. It will be a great time! The party is Oct. 24th.
Arr matey!

Fun stuff

Having fun at the pool with Dad
Relaxing at the pool
Swimming in the deep end!
Climbing out?
His custom pirate hat
A fun hat from a book we bought
Sleeping with his buddy, Tobey

Here's one of the birthday presents we got for him-a personalized pirate backpack! We also got some tie dyed playsilks, books, a custom pirate taggie blanket, and a custom pirate hat. We'll take a pic of it all together at his party. So far, we have lots of people coming!

11 months already!

Can you believe he's 11 months old? Only a few weeks until the big first birthday! Pirate themed, of course! Since it's so close to Halloween, I'm having it be a costume party. We have some great decorations and an awesome pinata. Tiffany Yates (who did his 6 and 9 month photo sessions) is going to come take pictures of the party, so that will be great. She's a fantastic photographer.

No presents are necessary, but if you're looking to get something, check our wish list on the left side of the blog and click the Amazon wish list to get some ideas. Small, compact toys are the best-we need more fun things for car rides and we don't have a lot of storage space. CDs and books are always good too (but either check with us first or include a gift receipt because we have a lot of them already!) A good book on baby sign language would be awesome-he knows the sign for milk and will do it back, and knows the sign for all done, but we're working on teaching him more.

He went to the dr. today because he had a giant mosquito bite on his forehead that swelled up pretty badly, but everything is ok! He is at 31 lb 1 1/2 oz. He's walking great. He can walk on his own, but prefers to have a hand to hold on to. He loves to nod and shake his head no. He's so personable and likes to smile at everyone.

Yep, I make him wear a helmet. It's saved him from hurting his head several times already.

Long time no post

Working on new teeth
My new "scary mean" face

I wasn't ready!
I have beautiful eyes!
Sorry for the length between posts! Zanthias has 2 more teeth so he is up to 8 now!
