We started off the day with some disappointing yard sales, but we did get some bath toys, clothes, a couple baby gates, and a cheapy umbrella stroller to keep in the car in case we ever want to use it. Zanthias hated being in it, unless you were running with it.
There's a new group in our area called the "Eco Explorers" to get kids out in nature. Today's trip was to a local park, Erna Nixon. We've gone here before for a couple of geocaches and letterboxes. The ranger at the park showed off the animals they have there-a grunt (baby alligator), skink, some toads, and snakes. The bigger kids were allowed to touch some of them. It was a really nice walk, and Zanthias always enjoys seeing other kids. A few moms from my moms' group came as well, so it was good to have some familiar faces. They are planning trips once a month-the next one is to the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary. We've never been there, but have always wanted to go, so we're very excited!
We went to a local pool today. It was not a lot of fun, because they don't have a baby pool, they just have a zero depth entry. There were too many kids around who don't know how to behave, and the baby got splashed a lot and almost kicked several times. We won't be going back there. He does like the pool better now though!
We also mixed some vanilla yogurt with some milk for Zanthias since he always wants Drew's yogurt. He really enjoyed it, but he wanted to feed himself! All went well until the end when he gagged and threw most of it back up. Too much like Drew!
